Tour Schedule & Fees:
Village Tours usually depart from Bukit Lawang at around 10am and return at 2pm, giving you plenty of time to explore the hidden gems of the village and interact with the friendly locals. The tour costs €25 per person, which includes transportation, an experienced local guide, entrance fees to the attractions, as well as a young coconut and fresh snacks.

Village Tours are suitable for individuals, families and groups of all sizes. Tours are available in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended. Please always respect local customs and traditions.

Bat Cave & BBQ Picnic
Ready for a day of enchantment and adventure in Bukit Lawang? Journey Into Wild Sumatra invites you to explore the mysteries of nature and the joys of relaxation in one perfect package!
Your adventure begins at around 9:30am, when our expert guide picks you up directly from your accommodation. After a leisurely 30-minute walk through the lush community garden, you will arrive at the threshold of the legendary Bat Cave. Enter this fascinating underground world, where towering stalactite and stalagmite formations are home to unique species such as bats, swiftlets, insects, and even cave snakes. Bring a flashlight to illuminate the dark passages and be prepared for a bit of a challenge climbing over slippery rocks that add to the excitement of the exploration! Who knows, you might also be lucky enough to meet some agile monkeys hanging from the trees along the way.
After the thrill of exploring the cave, we will continue our 30-minute journey to a hidden paradise: the enchanting Landak River. This is where it’s time to relax! Let yourself be carried away by the fresh, clear river water, go for a swim, or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Meanwhile, our guide and assistant will be busy preparing a delicious barbecue feast just for you! Enjoy the tempting aroma of freshly grilled chicken and fish, accompanied by fresh tropical fruits such as pineapple, watermelon, and banana as the perfect dessert. For those of you who are vegetarian, don't worry, we will prepare a delicious menu tailored for you!
This tour is designed with a low to medium intensity level, suitable for solo adventurers (for cave exploration only) or groups of at least two people (for a fun BBQ session). Around 3:00 p.m., with full bellies and hearts full of memories, we will drop you back at your accommodation.
Don't forget to bring: a camera to capture the moment, comfortable walking shoes, swimwear, flip-flops, towels, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, and a bottle of drinking water.
